Capoeira is a form of martial art that resembles a dance, characterized by movements of extraordinary flexibility and ‘malicia’. More than a sport, this n Afro-Brazilian manifestation is a philosophy of life and an elaborate ritual associated with social and political movements fighting for equal social rights.
The group Capoeira Angola Irmãos Guerreiros (headquartered in São Paulo, with sub-groups in Bremen, Vienna, Porto, Leipzig, Wroclav, Presov, Jena, Greifswald) has been developing its work in the area of teaching capoeira in the last 30 years and has organized and participated in numerous workshops all around the world.
The ‘Núcleo’ of Grupo Irmãos Guerreiros in Lisboa was created in June 2010 with regular classes of Capoeira Angola from “treineis” Pintinha and Grego. At the same time we organize international workshops, of Capoeira Angola and other Afro-Brazilian manifestations.
